Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." It was clear to see that the parents and students of Tsinglan Upper School are equipping themselves with the finest education, to go and change the world. Recently, the Upper School held its first Curriculum Night at which the teachers - our upper school curriculum specialists - shared information on the plethora of courses on offer at Tsinglan School. Parents were equipped with more knowledge on the key skills and objectives of each of the courses, and were given an understanding of how the scoring of the courses takes place. With this knowledge, parents are able to better assist their children in reaching academic excellence so that they can go and change the world.
Tsinglan Curriculum Evening was a fantastic opportunity for parents to get a closer look at what happens in the classroom. Principal Li and Principal Hammond opened the evening with eloquent speeches that expressed the school’s philosophy. They also discussed the future of international education and the school’s evolving image. Subject teachers had the opportunity to share detailed aspects of their curriculum and parents were given tips on how best to guide their children towards success. The evening rounded out with homeroom meetings. Parents and homeroom teachers were able to share ideas and concerns. At Tsinglan we are a community and parent involvement is always welcomed. We look forward to a fruitful year looking forward.
