This is the official account of Southeast University (SEU). Striving for Perfection.
Recently, the team led by Prof. Hong Wei from School of Information Science and Engineering of SEU has achieved a number of important progress in 5G millimeter wave research, and one of the results won 2021 Microwave Prize granted by IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S). This is the first time that a Chinese team has won the prize since it was established.
About the Microwave Prize
The Microwave Prize is the most time-honored award conferred by IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society. It started in 1955 and is awarded once annually to commend the most significant contributionmade in the field of microwave in the preceding year.
The award-winning project was jointly led by SEU and the Purple Mountain Laboratories, and was also funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Science Foundation Ireland (NSFC-SFI) Partnership Program.
In addition, a number of achievements related to 5G millimeter wave technology were selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers, with one paper accepted byIEEE JSSC, a top journal in the field of integrated circuits and one paper granted "2018 Hot Paper Award" by Science China: Information Science.Prof. Hong Wei, as the leader of FuTURE 5G millimeter wave working team, took the lead in completing the white paper of "5G millimeter wave technology" that has been released at the World 5G Conference convened in Guangzhou on Nov. 27, 2020, which has made great contributions to promoting the progress of 5G millimeter wave technology in China.
