Role description:
The role will be responsible for driving the broad activities of the Global Product Group (GPG) within the BlackRock / China Construction Bank joint venture WMC.
Core to the role is an ability to create and articulate strategic plans relating to existing and future products, taking into consideration client, industry, market, regulatory and technology trends. A key deliverable is the oversight and execution of product development initiatives in partnership with colleagues and clients.
The individual will more particularly support the creation and syndication of a strategic product roadmap for the WMC. He/she will also play a key role, in partnership with other functions, in executing on this roadmap: legal, financial and operational fund structuring, regulatory/licencing, product positioning in the marketplace, etc. In this respect, it is expected that he/she will have an intimate understanding of the onshore China fund market, both in the public and private fund spaces.
This position is an opportunity to work in a high pace, high visibility unit of the Firm. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in market/industry research, product design and structuring, possesses quantitative and analytical skills, is able to solve problems creatively, combined with a passion for driving commercial outcomes. Prior exposure to a broad range of investment products across different asset classes, including internationally, is necessary to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities include:
Establishing operational procedures and governance pertaining to the launch and ongoing management of all Wealth Management Products on offer within the WMC
Conducting studies on the local industry landscape, competitor research, and client/market trends
Working with the team to design and articulate product priorities, new ideas business cases, and longer-term product strategy, including critical gap analysis
Drive the product design and structuring process, manage the product approvals process, and oversee the end-to-end implementation process
Support the maintenance of existing products, working with numerous stakeholders to reposition products for the purpose of enhancing commercial performance, or eliminate products, as appropriate
Partner with Legal teams to create and maintain offering documentation
Support the maintenance and evolution of the product governance framework
Help create and maintain key reference documents, related to new product ideas and existing product suite
Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably in asset/fund management.
Strong understanding and prior exposure to the China mutual fund and wealth management industry – familiarity of regulatory frameworks (CBIRC) pertaining to the offering of investment funds, structures, competitors, and of launching fund products
Experience in facing / dealing with regulators and retail/institutional clients
Charted Financial Analyst (or working towards) or comparable qualification is a plus
Skills:
Native/exceptional in Chinese (Mandarin, simplified) and fluency in English is a must

Role Aim/Purpose:
BlackRock’s current PRC platform includes significant onshore and offshore activities. BlackRock currently holds a QDLP and PFM License and has offices in both Shanghai and Beijing. Blackrock is now expanding its onshore presence – including establishing a Wealth Management Company (“WMC”) in partnership with China Construction Bank (“CCB”) and Temasek.
The WMC is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer for its newly established WMC business. This role will be primarily responsible for advising on a range of compliance and regulatory matters – reporting directly to the WMC Head of Internal Controls/Chief Compliance Officer (“CCO”).
Key Responsibilities
The role’s key responsibilities will include:
Review, supervise and inspect compliance with the operations and management of the WMC and the practices of its employees – with a strong focus on internal controls. Establish and execute on a compliance monitoring and transactional surveillance programme for the WMC. Conduct and document compliance reviews of the internal rules and regulations of the WMC. Provide general compliance and regulatory advice and guidance to the FMC and its employees – including, but not limited to, challenging business decisions to ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations and effective management of compliance and regulatory risk. Qualifications:

Experience in, or exposure to, foreign financial services organizations or banking institutions operating in PRC.
