Principal Partnership Officer – Special Funds Management
As part of the Vice Presidency, Policy and Strategy (VPPS), the Operational Partnership Department (OPD) is responsible for administering the Bank’s Special Fund resources including performing the role of Implementing Partner of selected partnership facilities, managing and coordinating the operational partnerships between AIIB and relevant multilateral organizations, fora and stakeholders, as well as managing the Bank’s engagement with regional co-ordination mechanisms, with the objective of building relationships that can mobilize additional effort and resources for AIIB’s investment operations.
The OPD is seeking to recruit a Principal Partnership Officer to lead its Special Funds Management work. Reporting directly to the Director General, Operational Partnerships, and working closely with OPD’s institutional engagement and resources mobilization teams, and AIIB’s investment operations teams, the Principal Partnership Officer will oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day management and operation of AIIB’s Special Funds (SFs) and AIIB’s role as implementing partner for external partnerships, initiatives and funds.

Responsibilities
Lead the policy development/update and daily administration of the Bank’s Special Funds, including AIIB’s Project Preparation Special Fund (PPSF) and Special Fund Window for Less Developed Members (SFW), and lead the Secretariat for AIIB’s Special Funds Committee;
Lead the coordination of policy development and fund management as Implementing Partner of selected partnership facilities and/or funds;
Lead the engagement with AIIB investment operations teams to fully understand their needs and the ways in which AIIB special funds and implementation agency status can better support their goals;
Innovate and lead the development of – and accreditation to – new Special Funds to support AIIB’s corporate strategy, including through access to relevant external multilateral financing facilities;
Ensure that the management of Special Funds is based on solid analysis, knowledge, and insights;
Oversee AIIB's role as an implementing agency of the Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance (MCDF);
Work closely with OPD’s institutional engagement and resource mobilization teams, to identify platforms, mechanism and opportunities to further grow and leverage AIIB Special Funds resources and AIIB’s role as implementing partner;
Support OPD and VPPS leadership in providing policy guidance/suggestion;
Provide strong and results-oriented leadership in organizing and managing the Special Funds Management workstream;
Ensure regular cross-departmental communications, cooperation and exchange of information;
Represent AIIB in Special Funds-related external engagements; and
Help building an outstanding team of professionals who can help advance OPD goals and AIIB Corporate Strategy, in support of equitable and sustainable development for all.
Requirements
Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in working in similar assignments, involving policy and financing design and innovation, coordination with development partners and implementation of development projects.
Mature judgment and excellent interpersonal, communication, and diplomatic skills, including the ability to work with, and relate to, a wide range of stakeholder-donors, clients, and staff.
Ability to provide practical application of policy, financing, technical and operational knowledge to complete difficult assignments.
Ability to develop big-picture perspectives on a program level while paying attention to project-level details.
A strong team player with a proactive attitude and able to work independently.
Able to think innovatively and creatively.
Superior client orientation, with strong interpersonal, organizational and diplomatic skills, and able to work with all levels of staff, management, clients and partners; adept at identifying, coordinating and discussing program/project level issues with the Bank’s various departments and management.

Outstanding written and verbal English language communication and writing skills.
Minimum Master’s or equivalent degree in public policy, economics, business, management, finance or similar areas from a reputable university.
Manager, Board Operations
Reporting to the Vice President and Corporate Secretary, the Manager will be required to manage the Board Operations team, which is the focal point of all communication between Board of Directors (Board) and senior management of the Bank. It is also the safeguard of the integrity of the governance of the Bank.
The Manager will work closely with the external stakeholders of the Bank, including but not limited to the Board of Directors, the Board committees, the constituencies and other representatives of the Members of the Bank, as well as the internal stakeholders, which are the senior management, the business units and staff members of the Bank.
The Manager will serve as a member of the Corporate Secretariat management team to advise the Vice President and Corporate Secretary on issues relevant to their responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Lead the Board Operations team to support the Vice President and Corporate Secretary, especially in executing below responsibilities:
Guide the communication and engagement between the Board of Directors, the President of the Bank, the senior management and staff members of the Bank to ensure the transparency, efficiency and effectiveness of the governance.
Expedite the process of decision making by the Board where relevant, with strict compliance with the Article of Agreement, the Rules of Procedure of the Board of Directors, and other governance related rules and procedures of the Bank.
Lead to support the Board of Directors, collectively and individually, in exercising their duties according to the Article of Agreement of the Bank, by planning and organizing the Board meetings, Board Committee meetings, and Board / Committee informal meetings and events.
Lead to prepare the Board / Committee agenda, including preparation of official minutes, summary records and other documents for Board / Committee meetings, in accordance with relevant rules of procedures.
Function as the secretariat of the International Advisory Panel (IAP) which is one of the governance bodies of AIIB and is mandated to support the President and Senior Management on the Bank’s strategies, policies and general operational issues.
Prepare and / or review the procedures and guidelines on the operations of the non-resident Board, as well as the constituency engagement, manage the budget of the Board of Directors.
Facilitate the election of the Directors and the appointment of Directors to the Board committees, the election of the President and the appointment of senior management members, and the effectiveness review of the Board and the performance review of the President.
Support the VP and Corporate Secretary in the development and implementation of the AIIB’s governance framework and its integrity, including but not limited to the Accountability Framework and Oversight Mechanism.
Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned by the VP and Corporate Secretary.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 10-15 years of relevant working experience with international financial institutions, private sector companies and / or public sector organizations.
Deep insight and rich experience in corporate governance.
Excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders through diplomacy.
Highly motivated with proven leadership capability.
Ability of leading the team to manage multiple workstreams with excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lead a diverse team in a multicultural workplace.
Excellent written and oral English language skills.
Master’s degree or equivalent in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Business, Finance, and Economics or any other relevant discipline.
Senior Treasury Officer / Treasury Officer - Portfolio Valuation
The Senior / Treasury Officer, Portfolio Valuation reports to the Head of Strategic Planning and Middle Office within the Office of the Treasurer (TRE).
Responsibilities
Perform the valuation of the Bank’s assets, liabilities and derivatives for financial reporting and explain monthly results and valuation change
Review the quality of valuation and resolve price challenges by validating market data and reviewing pricing models.
Perform initial model and market data validation and coordinate with the Risk Management Department (RMD) on the final model validation for all product types in each currency. Main focus will be to analyze theoretical soundness of pricing models and verify the accuracy of model calibration and market data.
Test and implement new products and functions in treasury systems, as applicable to functions performed in respective systems and the overall valuation role.
Lead in any project/implementation work pertaining to system upgrades, valuation data analytics, and reporting etc.
Oversee AIIB’s Credit Support Annex terms (CSA), advise the Treasurer during negotiations of CSAs, stay current with industry developments, and ensure CSA terms are set to allow AIIB an optimum ability to trade and manage derivatives.
Manage collateral for all derivatives and monitor collateral posting and valuation of collateral and collateral interest.
Manage trade flow between front and middle/back office systems by validating and releasing trades, releasing private securities, and reconciling positions between treasury systems daily.
Interface with the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) team, Operational Risk, Internal Audit Unit (IAU) and external auditors for control design, testing and audit. Update the risk matrix with their area of responsibility.
Contribute proactively to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Treasury function by leveraging technology, driving automation, and defining best-in-class processes & procedures.
Requirements
Minimum 5-8 years of relevant practical experience in an international treasury environment, preferably in a valuation function. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required for a senior role.
Sound product knowledge in Treasury, Derivative, and Structured Products with extensive experience in pricing models for derivatives and a solid understanding of market terms and practices.
Ability to communicate complex technical aspects of valuation effectively.
Proficiency with programming tools (i.e python, C++) is preferred.
Expert spreadsheet and database skills with solid knowledge of the Bloomberg platform.
Detail-oriented, conscientious, and systematic.
Able to adhere to strict deadlines.
Highly motivated, able to work both independently and in a team.
Must be able to handle pressure well.
Strong organizational, critical thinking and customer service skills.
Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
Master or Ph.D. degree in quantitative finance, applied / computational mathematics, physics or statistics is preferred, with strong quantitative and analytic skills.
Investment Officer - Private Sector
AIIB’s Investment Operations comprises two regional teams, 1 and 2. Each regional team is led by a Vice President (VP) and reporting staff includes client relations specialists, technical specialists, and bankers. Region 1 is responsible for South East Asia, the Pacific Islands, and South Asia (except Pakistan and Afghanistan), while Region 2 covers Pakistan, Afghanistan, Central Asia, East Asia, West Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America.
The Infrastructure Investment Department is looking for professionals with sound infrastructure financing experience in commercial banks, investment banks and consulting organizations to augment its talent pool of private sector officers. The Investment Officer will be co-leading all aspects of origination, structuring, execution, and client relationship management for AIIB’s private sector operations. An individual with strong technical expertise, sound coordination skills and an inclusive approach is well suited for this role.
Responsibilities
Co-lead or assist other project team leaders in the preparation and delivery of predominately nonsovereign backed projects in an efficient manner.
Support business development in Southeast Asia and help build a healthy pipeline of private sector projects, by interacting with clients, governments, other financing institutions (commercial banks, multilateral agencies, private equity funds, export credit agencies, intermediaries, etc), and regular search in project finance media.
Advocate and promote AIIB’s mission and operational priorities and help clients identify, evaluate and develop infrastructure investment opportunities that are closely aligned to AIIB’s priorities.
Manage or be part of team that undertakes AIIB’s project due diligence. Ensure key economic, financial, technical, legal, environmental, and social issues are considered, and mitigants are incorporated in the financing structure and legal documentation.
Work with and coach associates and analysts to produce high-quality project documents, and be an important team member in AIIB’s approvals process.
Requirements
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in the field of infrastructure finance gained at a commercial bank, investment bank, international financial institution, or top tier consultancy.
Extensive experience in structuring comprehensive financing solutions across products using debt, mezzanine, guarantees, etc.
Strong analytical, credit and financial modelling skills.
Experience in Southeast Asian markets.
Proficient oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of a language(s) of a country in which AIIB invests would be an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, or Economics or related fields.
