Reflection on my MBA Journey
Innovation and people leadership are not easy. It requires more than just unflagging determination, energy, and commitment but also a transformative mindset. I couldn’t understand that essence before joining the BI-Fudan MBA program, and I can now finally say I am getting there.
I worked as a marketing professional in the early years of my career. I loved my work; however, I felt professionally stagnant while aspiring to do something amazing with my vision and creativity, especially in 2018. Although at that time, I was working for a company with core values I aspired to promote, I still felt like something was missing – I need to learn and develop in order to achieve my goal then I can be able to be the one I wanted to be, but at the same time, allow me to gain a more social life and be alive.
There I met BI-Fudan MBA Program, the Best of Both, allowing me to hit two birds with one stone -enriching knowledge from many different perspectives, and meet numerous talented fellow students with similar mindsets!
When looking back now, I can see that it has been a very challenging yet incredible two-year journey, and I am glad I was there. From the Masterclasses and discussions with CEOs in strategies and finance classrooms in Fudan University to the exchange semester in WHU-Otto Beisheim School in Germany, from innovative digital development of Design Thinking in Hasso Plattner Institute in Germany, to GNAM EMBA week in UBC, Canada & Entrepreneurship in UC Berkeley, USA, all and all enabled me to widen my eyesight and have a more global vision of the international business.
Going through the different courses in the program, I wasn’t able to see my growth on a daily basis. However, as I reflected on the passing days, it was surprising to find out how much I have changed! Especially when I am joining in new projects and conducting communication with international colleagues - I can see substantial development in my leadership skills, emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and understanding of core business concepts significantly.
Nevertheless, I hold the uttermost value to the family I gained from BI-Fudan MBA Class 31 (now though we live globally). All the professors, classmates, and alumni I met are highly regarded talented in their fields, and I learned a lot from them. My appreciation for their unconditional support and countless shared moments of reflection throughout this whole study journey will be held forever.
This program has taught me to be comfortable and enjoy being outside of my own comfort zone. As MBAers, we all have constantly been immersing ourselves in work and challenging ourselves, and that makes us better. Work hard, play harder. It was my motto for this journey and will surely keep me going on in the future. I wish us all the best and see you soon again.
