We are blessed and honored to have Sister Guo as one ofour star vendors. She was one of the founders of the Organic Farmer’s market and, along with Derunwu, she’s one of the first organic producers in the region. Theytry to adhere to the highest standards in organic farming. Organic farmers canuse organic pesticides to kill bugs and birds. Sister Guo’s vegetables aregrown in respect of the earth and all animals. They make their own organicfertilizers and they have nets to keep birds from their crops. They do not killthem, not even with organic pesticides. Their seeds are heritage seeds. Theyhave sourced the highest quality grains and flour for the past 10 years from asmall natural and organic producer who grows millet, soya bean, black bean, whole wheat flour (all non GMO of course!), they make organic Chinese noodles, organic Canola oil, and they import soy sauce and fruit vinegars from Taiwan. Theproducers only produce when they can find truly organic fruits so they do notproduce often. Sister Guo also sources imported organic cotton shirts. Eating organic is important for the environment and our health but wearing organic isalso important as cotton growers use improper amounts of chemicals whilegrowing cotton.
Paying attention to our environment andfinding foods that are safe for our families is a common challenge. As parents,we are very picky of what we eat and we decided to help all of us in theneighborhood by starting this market so we can feel more in control of what weeat and also support small local producers !

We visit and verify the farms and producers that participate in ourmarket. We also seek the advice of agronomist expert opinion on the products inour market.
