If you've taken a Didi since the end of the May Day holiday, you will be fully aware of the influx of customers now bidding for rides. Much like how Beijing's roads welcomed back its usual clogged streets earlier this week, the need to call and wait for a driver in advance of your morning commute has returned. While the convenience may have diminished, there's something reassuring about the city's streets coming back to life – after all, it wouldn't be Beijing without serious traffic.
