Lenbach opens a rooftop location

Celebrating a successful one year since opening their first location last summer in The Place at Guomao, Lenbach has opened an even larger space just by Chongwenmen station that they’ve christened Lenbach Roof due to its inclusion of a roof patio.

The menu is more or less quite similar to the original location, featuring dried tapas, meat platters, and flatbreads dominant, and with several German beers on tap.

The patio is a well-done wooden deck with wooden tables, wicker chairs, and plenty of greenery besides.

Inside, meanwhile, the space's foremost feature is the column erected behind the bar that resembles a volcanic eruption in progress. As such, the new location not only brings Lenbach's eats to Chongwenmen, but has brought a whole new atmospheric experience to the city.

FLO Groupe opens Roti Char Grill

Never one to keep static for long, Groupe FLO is back with another opening: Roti Char Grill.

With Greek-style architecture and blue and white tiling all round, the new space is absolutely perfect for summertime outdoor dining.

Signature menu items include the grilled wood log shitake, whole roast goose, pacific scallop with caviar, grilled sea urchin with clam, and slow-cooked octopus with grilled pepper and mango puree. Expect to spend upwards or RMB 400 per person.

More lunchin' at Sarah’s Kitchen

Another sandwich and salad spot has popped up across from Chaowai Soho in the form of Sarah’s Kitchen. A nice spot for dine-in casual lunching, Sarah’s uses whole-grain toast for their duck breast sandwich and a decent grilled white loaf for the chicken panini. As for the salads, grains and fruits are the name of the game, with the most popular option containing mixed grains with raw spinach, pomegranate, and orange slices. A couple of pasta options are also on the menu, though it’s probably not going to become your go-to pasta place.
