Previously, the app could only display test results obtained in Beijing, creating an inconvenience for travelers coming or returning to the city who need to prove that they have obtained a negative test result elsewhere in the country.
However, officials warned that data updating is not instant in some areas of China, so in some cases, there may be a delay. For this reason, returnees should be sure to get tested earlier if they anticipate needing to show a test result upon return.
