Where to Brunch It Up Over Qingming Holiday

Sunday brunch has to be one of my favorite activities. However I'm always a little wary going to them, especially if they offer free flow, as I know I have to get up for work the next day. Well not this weekend! With Monday and Tuesday off and the weather looking like it's going to warm up, why not enjoy this Qingming weekend with one of these Sunday brunches?

Zarah

To celebrate the end of winter, Zarah have announced their “Hello Spring Brunch” featuring a buffet of spring-inspired food. Some of the tasty bites on offer are spring rolls, salmon bruschetta, cold cuts and cheeses, and of course their famous DIY jianbing station. For all you can eat, the price is RMB 228, or you can take full advantage of having Monday off and go for the added 3 hours of free flow option for RMB 358.

Time: Sunday, 10am-2pm

Toast at The Orchid

The mixed mezze supreme is a great option

Hidden away off Baochao Hutong, boutique hotel The Orchid's restaurant Toast offers a Mediterranean-themed brunch menu with classics such as shakshuka, Turkish cilbir and an impressive hummus selection just to name a few. For those who are unable to decide or want to try a bit of everything, a great option is their mixed mezze supreme for RMB 168, which serves about two people.

Time: Saturday and Sunday, 10am-2.30pm

Feast (Food by EAST, Beijing Hotel)

If you’re looking to get the most bang for your buck, then you can’t do better than Feast at EAST, Beijing Hotel. For RMB 328, you choose one a la carte meal from their extensive menu, which includes your usual brunch item like eggs Benedict or pancakes, or a more substantial main meal like steak, lamb shoulder etc. In addition to this, you have access to their brunch buffet which ranges from curry, cheeses, sushi, dim sum and much more, and to top it all off, free flow beer, wine, sparkling wine and soft drinks are also included.

Time: Saturday and Sunday, 11.30am – 3pm

Jing Yaa Tang (The Opposite House)

One of the restaurants in The Opposite House, the Michelin-starred Jing Yaa Tang, offers an amazing all-you-can-eat dim sum brunch for the low price of RMB 188. There are a staggering 28 different dim sum items on the menu, mainly hailing from Canton and Shanghai. Some not to miss items are their xiaolongbao, chasiu bao, hargow, and crispy duck and shitake mushroom pastries. For those who want to make their brunch even more indulgent, a free flow package for Prosecco, wine and beer can be added for RMB 168.

Mosto

Set in the beautiful Nali Patio, which always feels more like you’re in Europe than the heart of Sanlitun, Mosto offers up a simple selection of brunch classics and more unusual dishes like mac and cheese or Swedish meatballs. Additionally, you can add two-hour free flow for RMB 188 which includes the following drinks: Bloody Mary, mimosa, Bellini, screw driver, Aperol spritz, Michelada, house wine, sparkling wine, and soft drinks.

Arrow Factory Brewing

Perhaps the best English breakfast in town at Arrow Factory

For those who are simply looking for a good old fry up, then Arrow Factory have you covered with what is arguably the best English breakfast in Beijing, all for a cool RMB 75. The star of show here are their herby English sausages and top quality real bacon (aka nothing like the stuff you get in the Chinese supermarket). Along with this, they have other classics like eggs Benedict, huevos rancheros or a DIY breakfast option so that you can create your own. You can actually still order their brunch right until 6pm so if you're hanging and unable to make it out of the house until later, you can still get your fry up fix.

Time: Saturday and Sunday, 10:30am-6pm

Slow Boat Brewery

Slow Boat's Maizidian branch has a brunch menu that's hard to beat. From sweet dishes like waffles and pancakes to savoury dishes like omelettes and hash browns, there is plenty to choose from. Of course, if when it comes to it you just have a hankering for a burger, you can also order from their standard menu too.

Time: Saturday and Sunday, 11am-3pm

Jing-A Longfusi

Jing-A's ultimate breakfast pizza

At their Longfusi branch, Jing-A brings some rather unique brunch items you don't see elsewhere to the table such as their banana bread, zhou porridge or sourdough pancakes. If you're looking for something more hearty or to help soak up a hangover, they also have an amazing breakfast pizza on offer which comes topped with beans, eggs, bacon, sausage and basically any other staple breakfast ingredients for RMB 90. At their CBDand Xingfucun branches, they also have a full American breakfast available (RMB 120).

Great Leap Brewing

Great Leap offer up a solid brunch menus at their Xinyuanli and Lidolocations. At Xinyuanli, you'll find a pancake breakfast (RMB 60), breakfast burrito (RMB 50), or the sausage egg and cheese sandwich (RMB 45). At Lido, you can find things like a piña colada custard toast and pork belly jianbing (both RMB 50 each), the three-hand fried chicken biscuit (RMB 55) and the same breakfast sandwich as Xinyuanli. There's also sides like home fries, biscuits, rye toast and more on offer. Along with this you can add two hours of beer cocktails on free flow for the low cost of RMB 100 (they’re normally RMB 50 each so you only have to drink two to break even).
