IB Results | The Class of 2022 Finishing Strong

"What does not kill me, makes me stronger.” For International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) students, the famous quote often seems to ring true.  

By now, the Class of 2022 IBDP students has received their final IB scores. The culmination of two years of rigorous work across six subjects each with its own demanding coursework, as well as a service component.  

Despite the challenges and uncertainties of this year’s Shanghai lockdown, the Class of 2022 completed the IBDP with remarkable scores that led our schoolwide community to bittersweet joy. We received astonishing results across both Hongqiao and Pudong campuses with an average IB score of 35 (out of 45), well above the world average of 31.98.  

SCIS has received three consecutive years of students achieving a perfect score of 45, and this year is no different. Sota Yanagisawa, a Golden Dragon of 13 years, has flawlessly tackled the IBDP and will continue his academic career in aerospace engineering at Purdue University.  

We are immensely proud to celebrate another amazing class of Dragons who have become the finest version of themselves and enabled them to experience life and reach their goals. Their IB journey of critical thinking has shaped them to become confident individuals who are able to respond to challenges with optimism and are prepared to apply what they learn in our complex and unpredictable real world.
