The Sixth #SCISDragonfit Challenge Has Arrived!
健康的身体,健康的心态。
Healthy body, healthy mind.
Happy May, Dragons! Check out some of our Creativity, Action, and Service (CAS) student submissions, where they share ways of staying active during the lockdown. Some highlights include students challenging how health and treatment are defined across cultures.
What's our final theme? Take a look below!
April Winners!
Congratulations to our Grade 9 student, MinSung, and Grade 11 student, Ignatius, for their active participation in April’s month-long #SCISDragonfit Challenge! The two lucky winners received vouchers from Sherpa’s, where they have the luxury to enjoy food delivery directly to their home, or wherever they would like!

CHALLENGE #6: Measuring Health
This May, we will explore the link to an existing initiative and take action.
Discuss something you read/watched: a famous quote says, "If you can't measure it - it doesn't exist". How does one measure happiness?
Respond in your native language: Think of a person whom you consider "healthy". Does thinking about them change how you think/feel about yourself?
Record a conversation: How might "cross-cultural comparisons of what is/isn't healthy" be biased?
Share a photo: Upload data-focused photos that represent what it means to you and your family to have a "healthy body & healthy mind".
Remember: You can directly respond to one of the above OR simply reflect in any way you wish on the overall theme of "Measuring Health".
How to Submit
We will be gathering submissions through Instagram, Facebook, and via WeChat PAFA groups. Post your submission to your Instagram or Facebook page using the hashtag #SCISDragonfit AND tag us at @scis.china.
Giveaway!
One lucky winner will receive a voucher from Homeslice, the delicious pizza joint! And remember, the more you submit, the more you have a chance of winning an awesome prize!

An additional point of curricular integration of the Dragonfit initiative has come through English Language Acquisition and their unit, Compassion Through Perspective. Key concepts and skills that were explored included communication, empathy, and point of view, among others. One of the key criteria with any of our growing experiential learning initiatives is to encourage participants to challenge existing biases on a range of topics; in this case - health and wellness. What is meant by “alternative medicine”?
“I was able to deeply understand different perspectives of how medicine is defined across cultures. I was proud of myself because I understood each other’s thoughts and persuaded my argument through words. Moreover, I had the chance to get access to a lot of background knowledge, especially about well-being”.
