It has been a long time coming, but finally, despite multiple setbacks the 2021 Chi Fan For Charity after party happened…and it was worth the wait.
In the spirit of CFFC, some friends and I met up with board members and Beijing foodie royalty Preston Thomas and Ana Lorenco for a quick dinner at one of Thomas’ favorite Beijing restaurants, Al Safir. We were treated to an exceptional meal of fluffy pita bread, grilled meat, falafel, hummus, tomato, pine nut spread, and so much more. I highly recommend checking out this wonderful eatery the next time you are in the mood for the Middle Eastern fair. Right before our meal was served an epic hail storm hit. We were worried it might mean the end of the evening as the party was set to be outdoors at Roti by Flo’s beautiful patio. But the quick-thinking staff moved everything inside and despite the bad weather, Beijing’s big-hearted donors and foodies showed up to eat, drink and be merry. All this in an effort to raise money for 2021’s recipient, The Dandelion School.
The beautiful venue sparkled a little brighter after a glass (or two) of bubbly provided by Cheers Wine and the caviar station set up by Kaluga Queen was a luxurious and lovely treat. Many delicious appetizers rounded out the evening as we danced off the calories.
In total, 2021’s Chi Fan for Charity event raised RMB 500,000 from table sales, raffle tickets, and donations. Don’t worry if you weren’t able to attend last year’s event! I’m assured that the 2022 event will be spectacular. The date hasn’t been announced yet but it is traditionally held in November. Tables sell out incredibly fast so make sure you stand a fighting chance at your preferred venue by following the official CFFC account by scanning the QR Code below.
