We continue to explore the ancient trade routes with Union cocktail cart which connected the East and West. Through our bi-monthly creation, listen the stories of traditions, culture and custom of the most iconic regions of the Silk Road.
This time, we explore the 3 regions- Russia, Lanzhou and Philippines where the ancient road of the North, South and Maritime passed by!
North Route

Pickled Cucumber Distillate
酸黄瓜蒸馏液
Herbal Distillate 草本蒸馏液
Vermouth Blanco 白味美思
Camomille Liqueur 洋甘菊利口酒
我们在伏特加马天尼的基础上，加入了俄罗斯当地的风味特色，莳萝和酸黄瓜，创造了这款鸡尾酒，很多的俄罗斯美食都会以莳萝做点缀，酸黄瓜也是当地人最喜爱的小食之一，且时常用来解酒搭配，在这款马天尼里，我们用到伏特加萃取莳萝风味，加入些许的酸黄瓜蒸馏液，蒸馏的液体使它能保持本身的风味又祛除浓厚的酸涩，然后加入一些草本的风味，再以白味美思来平衡整体的口感风味，使它更像一杯马天尼且不失俄罗斯风情，入口莳萝草本的清香，尾韵散来淡淡酸黄瓜于味蕾…
The team created this drink based on the classic
Vodka Martini, using dill and pickled cucumber
to represent Russia. Dill is a common garnish in
Russian cuisine and pickled cucumber is a
popular everyday snack. We incorporated extract
of dill and pickled cucumber into our distillation,
along with various fresh herbs to craft this
Russia-inspired martini.
South Route
- 兰州 Lanzhou -
Ingredients
Fino Sherry 干型雪莉酒
Pear 香梨
Spice Mix 混合香料
Pear Liqueur 香梨利口酒
Vermouth Rosso 红味美思
Orange Bitter 橙味苦精
这款“兰州”是当地街头著名小吃热冬果梨带给 Union 团队的灵感，一碗简单的梨汤，由于其加入了诸多香料带来复合型的体验，梨子风味轻薄，因此我们选用干型雪利酒来搭配热冬果熬制时使用的山楂、红枣、陈皮、花椒等香料做成的味美思，带来一杯入口有梨香且余味复杂的鸡尾酒。
Inspired by the Dongguo pear soup, a traditional
street sweet food in Lanzhou, Union team paired
a light and velvety texture with a complex
mixture of spices and fino sherry. This creation
is a variation of the classic Adonis cocktail.
Maritime Route
- 菲律宾 Philippines -
Ingredients
Michter's Bourbon 酩帝诗波本
Fried Coconut 油煎椰子
Banana 香蕉
Oloroso 甜雪莉酒
Vermouth Rosso 红味美思
Chocolate Bitter 巧克力苦精
菲律宾国民由衷热爱椰子，日常烹饪制作饮品都时常用到椰子，所以我们萃取椰子的风味，使用椰油轻煎椰蓉片，使其富有烘烤的芳香，搭配酩帝诗波本特有的核果、香草、烟熏等风味，最后加入自制香蕉风味的味美思，整体呈现出热带风情，喝起来像是一杯口感浓郁，风味十足的曼哈顿。
Coconut is well loved in the Philippines. It is widely used in people's daily cooking and drink making. Union team toasted the coconut chips with coconut oil, giving it a full-range coconut aroma, to pair with the nutty, vanilla and smoky flavours of Michter's Bourbon. Mix with our homemade banana vermouth, this tropical version of a Manhattan is rich and bold in taste.
