Back by popular demand, Ladies Who Tech Beijing’s STEM Drinks Night is happening again on Thursday, January 20!
Since September 2020, talks around China’s “dual carbon” goals – meaning to achieve carbon dioxide emissions peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060 – have been gathering pace for more than a year. This has not only affected the energy industry, but as our country continues to advance towards this target, the entire industry has begun to issue medium and long-term sustainable development goals in order to strive for the common goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius as set out in the Paris Agreement.
Still, think this has nothing to do with you? Well, truth is, the effect of climate change will have an impact on everyone. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicts that by 2050, rising temperatures and reduced precipitation brought about by climate change will lead to a 38%-89% reduction in weekly areas suitable for coffee cultivation, meaning that this could actually affect your access to your daily morning coffee!
