In today's cloud-native application landscape, the use of multiple Kubernetes clusters by many companies to support their applications has become increasingly common. Effectively managing applications and traffic between these clusters is crucial for ensuring reliable and efficient operation. A multi-cluster application orchestration and scheduling system can assist users in managing applications across multiple clusters. eBPF has emerged as a significant technology within Linux kernel, enabling programmability within kernel space to handle traffic in a flexible and efficient manner. This facilitates traffic scheduling among multiple Kubernetes clusters. With this presentation, attendees will gain insights into the trends of multi-cluster environments, multi-cluster application orchestration and scheduling, the advantages of eBPF in cloud-native traffic processing, as well as practical considerations and reflections on application and traffic scheduling in multi-cluster scenarios.
