方智生教授

Federal University of ABC

Prof. Chee Sheng Fong: Prof. Fong got his PhD at Yang Institute of Theoretical Physics, Stony Brook University in 2011. Then he did two postdocs at INFN, Frascati and University of Sao Paulo. In 2018, he joined the Federal University of ABC in Brazil as junior faculty. Prof. Fong is an expert in topics including neutrino physics, baryogenesis, leptogenesis and many related new physics models.

报告简介

This set of lectures aim to introduce the audience to the open puzzle of cosmic matter-antimatter (baryon-antibaryon) asymmetry and how this asymmetry can arise through baryogenesis. We will introduce the basic toolbox necessary to carry out the research in the field. The audience is expected to have basic knowledge in cosmology and particle physics. We will start by reviewing basic cosmology and evidence of cosmic matter-antimatter. Then we will discuss how this asymmetry can arise from general symmetry consideration in the early Universe. In order to describe the generation and evolution of the asymmetry, we will study the Boltzmann equations. Finally, we will look at several well-motivated models that can naturally explain light neutrino masses.
